We are recruiting a Head of Market & Network Development to own and grow defined demand channels and referral networks across primary care/private GP, corporate & employer pathways, medical concierge/VIP access, international and embassy networks. You will be accountable for generating high-quality demand and improving downstream conversion into outpatient, diagnostics and procedural activity, aligned to the hospital’s commercial strategy.

The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth (HJE) is an independent hospital in central London with a strong reputation for clinical quality and patient experience. We are investing in service-line growth, operational excellence, and a market-leading front-door experience for patients, consultants, insurers and partners.

What are the responsibilities for the Head of Market & Network Development Position?

Market & channel development

  • Develop and execute growth strategies for each owned channel in line with the commercial plan.
  • Shape propositions, access models and pathways to improve speed-to-care and conversion.
  • Identify new opportunities across cancer, primary care, corporate, concierge and international markets.

Network & relationship leadership

  • Act as senior relationship owner across corporate, embassy, international and primary care networks.
  • Build structured engagement plans for priority networks and accounts, aligning referral flows with clinical capacity.

Medical concierge performance

  • Own the medical concierge function as a growth and conversion channel, overseeing complex, VIP, corporate and international cases.
  • Resolve friction and leakage within concierge-led pathways and ensure clear escalation routes for complex cases.

Conversion & commercial performance

  • Own activity, conversion and revenue targets across channels, defining and monitoring KPIs and using insight to prioritise initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Business Development and Marketing to translate channel strategy into clear briefs, priorities and measurable delivery.

What you will bring (essential)

  • Senior experience designing, developing and scaling medical concierge or complex patient access services.
  • Track record developing growth channels and referral-led models with measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong external relationship and partnership management capability with senior credibility across NHS and private healthcare.
  • Commercial acumen with a data-driven approach to performance, prioritisation and delivery.

Desirable

  • Experience across corporate, international or embassy-led healthcare pathways.
  • Understanding of private healthcare funding and payor environments.
