Description

As a valued Head of Department working with the Hospital/Hospice’s extended management team the Head of Estates and Facilities will work collaboratively across their department and with other Heads of  Departments and Directors, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services working towards meeting the Hospital/Hospice’s three strategic objectives;

Generally working unnoticed in the background, our Estates and Facilities Team play a vital role in maintaining and improving our working environments to keep all our hospital and hospice patients, staff and visitors safe and comfortable. From repairing faulty lighting and unblocking drains through to maintaining our mixture of hospital buildings and grounds dating back over 160 years old to present, the team work hard every day to ensure that our services can deliver the care our patients need.

Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our independent private Hospital has just been rated the number one in the country for care in the latest Bupa survey. Uniquely, all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.

Am I the right person for this Head of Estates & Facilities role? 

  • Degree Level (preferable Eng./Cons. or equivalent extensive knowledge and experience in Estates and Facilities Discipline
  • Formal Recognised Management Qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in a line management role within Estates & Facilities or a similar setting, with a proven track record of leading front-line services
  • Compliance of all statutory and regulatory requirements including Building Regulations, Environmental Health, CQC & HTM best practice
  • Leadership of staff and their development
  • Ability to run day-to-day operations to the highest standards, ensuring service continuity and excellence. Support the development of business cases to facilitate necessary service changes
  • Ability to manage budgets and obtain best value use of hospital/hospice funds
