Description

The Outpatient Department is often a patients’ first experience of the hospital of St John and St Elizabeth and therefore staff are polite and helpful. The department is a 30 individually designed consulting rooms with equipment specific to the various specialities we cover and is in spacious, comfortable surroundings.

 

The department offers both pre and post-operative appointments and a variety of other medical and general specialities. Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our independent private Hospital has just been rated the number one in the country for care in the latest Bupa survey. Uniquely, all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.

What are the Responsibilities of this Senior Staff Nurse- Outpatient Department role?

  • To maintain confidentiality surrounding patient admission and treatment at all times.
  • To ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales using Hospital approved documentation, in line with NMC and Hospital guidelines.
  • To have knowledge of and adhere to ward and Hospital policy and professional standards. To ensure that team members do likewise.
  • To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based nursing care for patients.
  • Ensure that each patient is assessed, and that their care is planned, implemented and evaluated, and that this is accurately documented.
  • Participate in effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team, other hospital departments, relatives and visitors.
  • Ensure quality care is given, by being familiar with agreed standards of care and to inform seniors, if the required standard cannot be reached.
