We are currently looking for a dynamic and dedicated Nurse to help grow our busy Medical and Stroke Ward.

Would you like to join London's leading nursing team? We are looking for a Staff Nurse to join our busy medical ward, St Andrew’s, our recently renovated  medical ward, which incorporates the Bupa accredited state-of-the-art stroke rehabilitation service.    

The successful applicant will have been working in a similar environment and will be up to date in current practices. Experience will extend to working within a busy ward and professional, multi-disciplinary teams. Ideally, you will have worked in a ward specialising in stroke rehabilitation. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a thriving busy team and wants to work with excellent staff to patient ratios.

Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury private Hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.
 
What would be my responsibilities be my responsibilities as the Medical / Stroke Senior Staff Nurse:
•    Carry out planned care for a group of patients with support from senior staff.
•    Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care.
•    Assist in performing safe effective care for patients requiring advanced clinical skills.
•    Recognise when changes in patients condition occur and take appropriate action.
•    Assist in carrying out extended roles to ensure best clinical practice.
•    Assist and advise unregistered staff in the delivery of patient care.
•    Assist in the safe transfer of critically ill patients.
•    Maintain accurate clinical observations of the patient and act accordingly and appropriately.
•    Undertake nursing procedures.
•    Have responsibility for the correct administration and custody of medicines according to Hospital policy.
•    Assist with the management of distressing and emotional situations
•    Have the knowledge and expertise to act appropriately in emergency situation
•    Act as the patient’s advocate
•    Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested
•    Promote healthy living through health education
•    Ensure patients referred to appropriate clinical support teams

Am I the right person for this Senior Medical / Stroke Staff Nurse role?
•    Registered Nurse
•    Minimum of 3  year post-registration in nursing field
•    Excellent clinical skills
•    Excellent communicator
•    Professional commitment and self-awareness
•    Motivate self and others
•    Sound knowledge of current issues in nursing, developments
•    Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
•    Good organisational and time management skills
•    Computer literate
